No7 Essentially Natural Foundation Review

Hey guys!
So another day, another foundation review! I just have so many ideas for posts and reviews and I'm loving doing them at the moment, testing my foundations etc.
So I mentioned this foundation in my previous post, also a No7 review, and it is a long time favourite of mine. I'd say I've gone through almost 10 bottles of this!
It's comes in this squeezy tube bottle which contains 40ml and it lasts ages and ages. If I'm using it everyday then it lasts me about 6 weeks which is a good bit longer than my other No7 foundation! As you can see from the bottle it's suitable for all skin types and has a light/medium coverage. To be honest this foundation does exactly what it says on the tin, it does give an extremely lightweight, natural finish. My mam always says that makeup should make you look like you've got amazing skin, not like you've got amazing foundation and I think this foundation does that. It glides on really easily and it just compliments your skins natural state. The back of the bottle claims that this foundation will give you soft and healthy skin, minimise the appearance of blemishes and pores while also being delicate and lightweight, it contains vitamins, ceramides and tons of other skin-loving ingredients which will moisturise your dry areas and condition your skin. I do believe that this foundation does all of these things.

So to begin I have another unflattering #iwokeuplikethis selfie, featuring donut onesie, sleepy almondy eyes and unbrushed hair. I just think it helps to see what the skin looks like before and after foundation. This was at about 5.30am this morning because that's when I have to get up for work the odd day, so yeah we all look pretty rough at that time right? Today is actually a pretty good skin day for me, I know it doesn't look it, but the red marks on my face are just marks from spots that have been dealt with and are on the way out. They're not what I call '3D spots', you know, the ones that actually stand off your face. So, because they're just marks I said I would chance the light coverage foundation today.

The next two pictures show one layer of the foundation, some of the worse marks are still visible but nothing major. The overall tone of my skin is even, and it looks soft and natural. I didn't use a primer under the foundation, just my usual Garnier moisture match moisturiser.

Next, I used my Seventeen concealer and just dotted it around my mouth and under my nose as that's where I'm needing the most coverage the moments. This concealer is long-wearing and full coverage so I basically just covered up the really bad marks that the foundation didn't. I then set my whole face with the Maybelline Matte Maker powder, just to make sure my foundation would last all day.

I mentioned in my last review that the reason I don't always use this foundation is because it isn't the longest wearing thing ever, it does slide a bit in the heat, but concealer and powder really help it along a lot.

So the first photo above shows me at about 6.15am waiting for my bus, I'm all covered up and my skin is looking soft and even. The second photo is before I left work at 3pm. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with my makeups performance! Some marks on my chin and around my mouth are visible again but they aren't terrible and I think it just looks really natural. Under my eyes had also lost quite a bit of coverage at this point because I do work in a lab and am required to wear lab glasses, so with a light coverage foundation like this it tends to just rub off.

Overall I think this is a great foundation. It's only downfall is its longevitity, but coming into the Summer when you don't want to be wearing heaps of makeup and just need a little coverage I think it's perfect. It gives such a natural look and is so lightweight and easy to wear. It's also a great option if you're like me and suffer with breakouts, and want to give your skin a break, but don't have the confidence to go completely makeup free.

This product is available from Boots nationwide and is €12.95. I would give it an 8/10, I want to give it more but I just feel I'd like it to last me a little bit longer.

I hope you enjoyed this post let me know what you thought and if you found it helpful! Thanks so much,
Caoimhe x
